Project Description
In this class, my project was to design a system of icons for the Hands-On Museum in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We began this project by visiting the museum as a class and experiencing the exhibits ourselves before identifying six for which we would create icons. The intent was for these icons to be used for print and digital media, maps, and exhibition spaces within the museum.

Target Audience
Children between the ages of 3 and 13, as well as the adults accompanying them to the exhibits.

Goals
- Demonstrate proficiency using Adobe Illustrator.
- Exhibit proficiency with graphic design concepts like figure/ground, gestalt principles, color, composition, and scale.
- Create a family of icons that effectively and consistently communicates the excitement of science to all ages and cultures.
- Accurately portray the Hands-On Museum as a sophisticated, yet approachable, venue for education as entertainment.
- To convey the excitement of the exhibits to kids between the age of 3-13 and the adults who accompany them, while also accurately representing the museum brand.
